Can you believe this!? I couldn't. This shot almost was a wash-out, but some fooling around in my editing software saved it. Jenn's bridal portrait shoot at Rio Cibolo Ranch was amazing. The light was beautiful and she was drop dead gorgeous. This was probably only the 10th or 11th shot I took.

Gotta love happy accidents.

getting my learn on

I signed up for an online photography class last week. I figured I always have new things to learn and having a professional critique my photos and answer my questions would be worth it.

Our first assignment covers detail shots at a wedding, so I borrowed a few wedding rings from some girls at work. The afternoon light was great coming into the office area, so I was able to manage a few good shots.

Haven't blogged in forever and this post feels a bit detached. Hopefully I can get back in the swing of things shortly.

The holidays were busy at our house. Our family saw Thanksgiving in at the hospital with our little one suffering from pneumonia. (He's much better now, thanks for asking!) Christmas was much more fun as Zane tore through wrapping paper with great enthusiasm this year and paid at least as much attention to the gifts as the boxes and bows.

Back in September I was lucky enough to meet a fabulous couple whose wedding I will be photographing in March. They were a joy to work with and the photos came out beautifully! Here's a quick sample:
